HAMILTON — An Ontario mortgage broker facing a number of sex charges has now been accused of fraud.

Hamilton police say they’ve been investigating Dinesh Khanna of Oakville, Ont. since his arrest in March 2016.

At that time, he was charged with four counts of sexual assault, one count of extortion and one count of communicating for the purpose of sexual service after multiple victims alleged they’d been assaulted at his Hamilton office.

Now, police say they’ve laid two charges of fraud over $5,000 and one count of charging a criminal rate of interest.

Police, who say they’ve worked with various Ontario forces throughout their investigation, say the fraud charges are “global counts” that capture a wide variety of unspecified conduct.

They say the investigation is ongoing and are urging anyone with information to come forward.
